Houston Texans betting odds
this season
With Houston Texans
releasing David Carr, will the new trade Matt Schaub be able to
carry the team to playoffs this NFL season?
The
Houston Texans finally ran out of patience with David Carr and
did something they have never done before - changed the
quarterback during offseason. As soon as they finalized the
trade of the Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Schaub, the starting
quarterback Carr was released from the team. But no one knows if
the swap would work, as Schaub has only two NFL starts, although
each time he has played, the young QB exhibited great skill and
instincts. Most likely Matt Schaub will find the most serious
support with Andre Johnson. Jerome Mathis or Kevin Walters would
take care of the other side of the field.
Defensively, the Houston Texans have
less to worry about compared to the offense, especially after
landing first-round pick DT Amobi Okoye. And after the head
coach Gary Kubiak replaced David Carr, the defense should get a
little less playtime and improve the stats. Many experts believe
that this NFL season will be all bout improvements of the
Houston Texans crew. Large point spread could become a norm with
the Texans after winning the preseason game against the
Cardinals 33-20, and scored quite a few games last season over
35 points total. Against the Cardinals, Sage Rosenfels was
8-for-13 for 125 yards and a touchdown, while Owen Daniels had
three catches for 35 yards for the Texans.
If coach Kubiak revives the team, the
bettors are promised an enormous payout. The betting odds on the
Houston Texans currently land them in the underdog group. The
