Philadelphia
Eagles: Betting odds 2007 football
Strong favorite to win
by betting odds, Philadelphia Eagles are on a way to another
title, if they stay away from injuries.
After
a season filled with high and lows, the Philadelphia Eagles
remain one of the favoritre football teams to reach the Super
Bowl this season. During the 2006 season, we saw the Eagles
start with 4-1, just to sputter to 5-4, when they lost
quarterback Donovan McNabb to an injury during a 31-13 loss to
Tennessee. But then QB Jeff Garcia took over and led the team to
a playoff, proving a worthy substitution to McNabb.
Unfortunately, Eagles' management sent free agent Jeff Garcia
packing to Tampa Bay in hopes of a healthy McNabb return for the
2007 football season.
The Philadelphia Eagles offense was the
strong hand in the last season, running the ball and putting
points on the board and drafting Kevin Kolb out of Houston with
their first pick in the NFL draft caused an uproar. Although
aggressive, the defense was the weaker side of the team ranking
26th last season. Offseason acquisition Takeo Spikes will help,
but only if all the key players remain free of injuries would
give the Philadelphia Eagles a chance at the 2008 Super Bowl.
The preseason performance of the Eagles was somewhat weak,
losing the last exhibition game against the New York Jets 13-11.
Kevin Kolb completed 22-of-33 pass attempts for the Eagles in
the loss, gaining 220 yards and connecting on a TD strike with
Zac Collie.
The bookmakers are not as generous tot he
Eagles as one may predict. The betting odds on the Philadelphia
Eagles remain far from making them a favorite this season for
the Super Bowl, but strong contender for the NFC, mostly due to
their preseason games. These are the betting odds on the
Philadelphia Eagles, as published by the online bookmaker
