Taiwanese authorities bust another online
gambling ring
The police in Taiwan
broke the biggest online gambling ring in the island country
ever.
According to the
officials, the unnamed website has raked over $45 million in the
last six months alone, and some policemen were also a part of
the illegal Internet gambling website.
The police had launched
the investigation of the gambling ring late last year, after
uncovering by chance, that two policeman were involved in it,
receiving bribes in the form of money and sexual services. The
12 people arrested in the sting were soliciting members through
the website and offering them a wide variety of betting choices.
Over 120 police officers participated in what was called the
largest anti online gambling operation in Taiwan.
