Online gambling bill will be introduced tomorrow
Barney Frank (D-Mass.),
the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee,
announced today that he will introduce a bill by the end of the
week to lift the online gambling ban.
According to Rep. Frank,
it is none of his business if adults decide to gamble online. He
is aiming to lift the illegal online gambling ban which was
passed by the Congress last year. His new bill is titled the
Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007.
The future regulations
expected from the ban from last October would put an enormous
strain on the US banking system, because the law will make the
financial institution police transactions which may be related
to online gambling.
