Niagara Fallsview Casino plans an expansion
Niagara casino plans the building of a
5,000-seat entertainment center to the casino.
Falls
Management Co., the owner of Niagara Fallsview Casino, has
announced that the company plans to add a huge entertainment
center to the casino with capacity of near 5,000 seats. The
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the state's gaming
board, has already authorized the consulting for the new center.
The project is still under development and no exact dates, or
even the exact location of the center, have been specified, nor
a commitment to a deal has been made. But with the hotel of
Fallsview casino running at 100% occupancy, the plan is more
than likely to move to a project stage soon.
Opposition is expected to be heard, as this could be a big
competition to the proposed Niagara Convention and Civic Centre,
the $100-million facility to be built nearby the casino.
According to the management, the research part of the project
could take up to the end of the year to be completed.
Fallsview Casino Resort is a 2.5 million square foot complex
includes more than 3,000 slot machines and 150 gaming tables, a
368-room five-star hotel, a 1,500-seat theatre, and is claiming
to be the largest commercial development in Canada with a total
investment value of $1 billion.
