David Beckham to
play for England again
England manager Steve McClaren announced that
David Beckham will be recalled for the friendly with Brazil at
the new Wembley next week.
Beckham will also play for England in the
World Cup qualifier against Estonia. The future LA Galaxy player
said he was delighted that he was invited to play again for
England. Beckham was dumped by McClaren when he took over the
England coaching position after the last World Cup, but a change
of heart would allow David Beckham to play for his country
again.
Steve McClaren admits he was pleasantly
surprised by Beckham form in the second part of the Spanish
season, and experience is what England needs to compete for the
next World Cup, said the coach.
David Beckham was also sacked for a while by
Real Madrid's coach Fabio Capello, after he signed a £125
million ($250 million) contract
to move to the USA and join LA Galaxy.
