Roland Garros -
Nadal and Henin favorite to win the 2007 French Open
The first round of the 2007 French Open
"Roland Garros" starts on Sunday May 27th, in Paris,
France.
We
compare what odds the USA online oddsmaker
Bookmaker.com and the British
online betting company
Bet365 have for the outright
winner of the French Open, both men and women.
French Open Men:
Both bookies agree on a favorite - Rafael Nadal to win Roland
Garros. The U.K. betting site has the odds of 1.53 and the USA
bookie has listed Nadal at -200. Roger Federer is at 2.87 / +180
and third by odds comparison is Novak Djokovic with 19.00 /
+1000 to win the 2007 French Open.
Nadal, who was beaten by Federer last week,
admits that the world number one will beat him again, and hopes
that it will not be during the French Open. Nadal had 81 clay
wins in a row, before Federer stopped his streak in the Hamburg
final. If the 20-year-old Rafa wins the 2007 French Open, it
will be his third consecutive time. Coach for Rafael Nadal is
his uncle Toni, who introduced him to tennis at four years old.
Nadal currently ranks #2 in the world, after Federer. Roger
Federer will face American Michael Russell (ATP 71) in the first
round of the French Open.
French Open
Women: The bookmakers, although on each side
of the ocean, agree on the winner of the 2007 French Open Women,
making Justine Henin their favorite with odds 2.37 / +155.
Serena Williams is not a favorite this year with betting odds of
5.00 / +500. Michigan native, Serena has one French Open
trophy already, but she is no longer the world's number one,
de-crowned by Henin, and the two tennis players will quite
possibly meet each other on the field at Roland Garros. Jelena
Jankovic has third best odds of winning the French Open with
6.50 on U.K. and +550 on the North American books.
You can place bets on the French Open at
Bookmaker or
Bet365.
