Formula 1: Alonso wins, Hamilton second in Monaco

The two Formula 1 McLaren drivers split the top two spots at the Monaco Grand Prix today.

Formula 1: Alonso wins, Hamilton second in Monaco Alonso and Hamilton were the favorite to win the Monaco Grand Prix from the beginning with the bookmakers, the U.K. bookie Bet365 had odds on Alonso at 1.44 to win and Hamilton was second with 3.00 odds on winning the Formula 1 race.

The Monte-Carlo track, although most demanding in Formula 1, proved to be Alonso's favorite, winning the Monaco Grand Prix second year in a row. McLaren-Mercedes are adding more and more points to their now 20 points lead among the constructors.

Third was Massa with Ferrari and Giancarlo Fisichella did the best Renault performance this year, finishing fourth.

Alonso and Hamilton have 38 points each in the driver standings, and Fernando Alonso is currently number one in the world only thanks to his two wins.
