Wynn Resorts
limits expansion of Macau casino
Wynn Resorts announced that
they will slow down the expansion of their Macau casino.
According to the company, increasing
competition and tougher visa requirements are among the major
reasons for the decision to limit the expansion of its Macau
casino. Las Vegas Sands Corp's Venetian Cotai and MGM Grand
Paradise are the top competitors of Wynn Resorts in Macau. The
Chinese government, on the other side, has imposed stricter
requirements for obtaining visas, which had considerably slowed
down the traffic to the gambling paradise.
Wynn Resorts now plans to add only 25 tables
and about 200 slot machines by the end of the third quarter in
Macau.
