Lewis Hamilton
wins the US Grand Prix
The rookie Lewis Hamilton
continues to amaze the Formula 1 fans, this time he won the US
Grand Prix.
After
winning in Canada, Lewis Hamilton now adds the US Grand Prix to
his list of Formula 1 achievements. The British driver admitted
that he knew the Indianapolis Motor Speedway only by playing
video games, but this did not stop the young driver from winning
the Sunday race. Second Gran Prix career victory for the
22-year-old Briton, beating teammate Fernando Alonso in
Indianapolis. Lewis Hamilton has now a 10-point lead over Alonso
with 58 points compared to 48 for Alonso. Hamilton broke another
record in Indianapolis - he became the first driver to score
points in all of his first seven races
Lewis Hamilton was 1,518 seconds faster
than Fernando Alonso in crossing the finish line of the US Grand
Prix. Felipe Massa was third for Ferrari. With first and second,
McLaren now has a 35 points more than Ferrari in the
constructors table.
A furious battle took place on the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Many attempts were made by Fernando
Alonso to overtake his McLaren teammate but Lewis Hamilton
successfully blocked each one of them. It was obvious that the
two-time world champion was getting quite frustrated as he waved
his fist to the McLaren box at the 40th lap, after another block
by Hamilton.
Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen from
Ferrari were involved in their own private battle which was won
at the end by the Brazilian driver.
