Fernando Torres transfer to Liverpool in good health On Wednesday morning, the 23-year-old striker will pay tribute to the Atletico Madrid fans, after his medical exam labeled him fit to join Liverpool. The six-year contract will cost the Reds over 26 million pounds and is the largest amount Liverpool has forked out for a contract of such time-frame. According to a press release by the Spanish club, n agreement on all terms have been reached and the transfer is good to go.

Part of the deal funding will come from the Luis Garcia transfer to Atletico for $10 million, completed earlier this week.

Fernando Torres has scored 14 times in 36 games for Atletico Madrid and the team finished seventh in the Spanish League last season. He was the youngest player of the Spanish team, and the youngest to become a captain at only 19-years-old. After joining Liverpool, Torres will get a paycheck of around $180,000 each week.

First game of the Premiership for Liverpool will be against Aston Villa. The odds on the match are favoring Liverpool at 2.00, as posted by the U.K. bookmaker Bet365 online.
