Al Gore III
arrested on drug charges after speeding
The son of the former
Vice President, Al Gore III, was arrested again on drug charges,
after police pulled him over for speeding at 100/mph.
The
24-year-old Al Gore III was clocked by a California patrol at
going over 100/mph on the freeway in a blue Toyota Prius, early
Wednesday morning. When the deputy stopped Al Gore III, he
smelled marijuana, which he found in the car, along with bottles
containing Valium, Vicadin, Xanax, and Adderall. All of these
drugs are by prescription only, which the Vice President's son
did not have for any of the medications.
According to the police, Al Gore III was
cooperating, even admitting that he smoked marijuana earlier. He
was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Ana Inmate
Reception Center on drug possession charges.
It is unknown if Al Gore has been
contacted, while traveling back from Europe today.
Although bail has been set at $20,000,
Al Gore III was still in jail, at the time the news broke.
This is not the first drug offence of
the young Al Gore III. He was arrested in 2003 on marijuana
related charges, while he was a student at Harvard University.
In 2002 he was arrested by military police near a base in
Virginia for DUI, and he got a reckless driving ticket in North
Carolina in 2000.
Current odds on Al Gore for the 2008
Presidential Elections are 6/1 by the American sportsbooks, and
at 5/1 by
Bet365, a British bookmaker.
