Kimi Raikkonen
wins the British Grand Prix
Second win in a row for Kimi
Raikkonen, after winning the British Grand Prix on Sunday.
Just as Felipe Massa predicted, the British Grand Prix was all
about strategy and tactics. But it was his teammate Kimi
Raikkonen who won the Formula 1 race, two seconds ahead of
Fernando Alonso.
Lewis Hamilton started from the pole position
and led the race up until he entered the pits to change tires
and refuel, but Raikkonen and Alonso remained on the track. Kimi
Raikonen followed Fernando Alonso for a pit-stop a little later
into the race, and after service, Alonso came ahead of both
Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton, just to be passed by Raikkonen
soon after.
Lewis Hamilton was pushing for a home turf
victory, but was unable to match Alonso and Raikkonen. Hamilton
still leads the Formula 1 driver standings 12 points ahead of
Fernando Alonso.
The Ferrari team took the British Grand Prix
top spot, followed by the two McLarens. Felipe Massa, whose
Ferrari stalled at the start of the race, had to begin at the
back of the line, but great driving skills pulled him all the
way to finish 5th on Sunday.
