Fernando Alonso
takes pole for the Hungarian Grand Prix
Faster this time around was
Fernando Alonso, claiming the pole position for the Hungarian
Grand Prix Formula-1 race, pushing Lewis Hamilton to second.
Fernando Alonso will start from the pole position in the
Sunday race for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The world champion
took the spot away from Formula-1 teammate Lewis Hamilton, both
with McLaren-Mercedes. Alsonso stopped the clock at 1m 19.674s,
but delaying Hamilton in the pit-stop, and the British driver
had to rely on his previous best time of 1m 19.781s, placing him
at the second position for the Sunday start. McLaren is
reportedly starting an inquiry over the incident in the pit
stop.
BMW managed to outrun Ferrari, and Nick
Heidfeld took the third with 1m 20.259s followed by Kimi
Raikkonen 1m 20.410s. The other Ferrari driven by Felipe Massa
was left to start at the 14th, after misunderstanding with the
pit crew over refuelling.
