Newcastle United have
sealed a £6.3 million deal
for Jose Enrique with Villarreal.
The
Spain U21 and Villarreal left-back Jose Enrique will play for
Newcastle United after the Magpies signed the young footballer
for £6.3 million. The duration of the deal is five years. Named
"The Bull" for his though defence, Jose Enrique first signed
with Villarreal in 2006, after impressing club scouts while on
loan at Celta de Vigo.
"I believe very much in Sam Allardyce
and believe they're going to be one of the top teams,"
Enrique said about the manager of Newcastle and his new home.
According to rumours, Newcastle will
continue to shop in Spain, this time the Magpies are eyeing the
Sevilla defender Ivica Dragutinovic. The contract of the
31-year-old Serbian player with the Spaniards expire in 2008.
Newcastle United will visit Bolton for
the first game of the 07/08 Premiership on August 11th. The U.K.
