Nicolas Anelka
signs with Bolton until 2011
The French striker, Nicolas
Anelka, has signed a new contract with Bolton Wanderers.
Recent
rumours have linked Anelka with clubs like Manchester United,
Manchester City and Portsmouth, but today it was announced that
the French football player will stay with Bolton until 2011. A
new four-year contract was signed which ended all the
speculation of his future.
"I seem to have been linked with every club in
the country of late, but my heart is with Bolton. I am very
happy with my form, the club and the manager so signing a new
contract was not a difficult decision. Hopefully we will prosper
together because I would not have remained at Bolton if I had
thought we could not win trophies," Anelka was quoted on the
Bolton website.

Anelka first signed with the Trotters in
August 2006 in a club record deal of £8 million. Nicolas Anelka
first game in a Premiership club was n 1997 when he joined
Arsenal for a fee of £500,000 from Paris Saint-Germain. Twenty
three goals for the Gunners in 65 games made him an instant
celebrity and he was transferred to Real Madrid for for £22.3
million in 1999.
