College Football:
Clemson finish the job against Florida State
After a very dramatic football
game, Clemson Tigers won 24-18 against Florida State on Monday
night.
In
the last college football game in Week 1, the Clemson Tigers
"finished the job" and won against Florida State late Monday
night, after taking 21-0 lead within the first 17 minutes of the
game. Beginning the second half with a 24-3 lead, Clemson had to
take a safety after a mistake towards the end of the third
quarter, and from that point on the game of the Tigers was best
described by head coach Tommy Bowden as "self-destructive".
Not
a single point put on the board by Clemson in the second half,
when rejuvenated Florida State offense managed to bring the
score to 24-18, a touchdown away from winning the game with more
than 5 minutes left.
Fortunately for Clemson, the defense
finally snapped out of it, and exhibited the excellent skills
shown during the first quarter. Clemson hung on to the 24-18,
working the clock until the final seconds of the game. A
call-review at the end of the game send the Clemson fans running
in and out of the field until it was announced the decision
stays and the game was over. Clemson-Florida State final result
24-18.
Florida State was the clear favorite, entering
the Monday night football game with odds -175 to win and Clemson
were listed at +155 on a victory by the online betting website
Bodog Sports.
