Carolina Panthers
odds to win and betting lines
The odds on the Carolina
Panthers to reach the 2008 Super Bowl don't come even close to
last year.
In
2006 most of the sportsbooks viewed the Carolina Panthers as one
of the teams favorite to reach the Super Bowl and the odds back
then reflected the prediction. But this year the online betting
companies have taken much more conservative approach towards the
Panthers. With Jeff Davidson as a new coach, and the addition of
the quarterback David Carr from the Texans have not moved the
betting lines on the Carolina by much.
Poor performance by the QB Jake Delhomme
last year is partially responsible for the low odds on the
Carolina Panthers. Delhomme threw for just 17 TDs and 11picks.
It's not a sure thing which of the quarterbacks will be at the
helm, but whoever it is, his job will be much easier, now that
WR Steve Smith is back on the roster after a hamstring injury.
But the Preseason game was good for the
Carolina Panthers, taking a 24-21 victory over the New York
Giants. Brett Basanez went 3-for-8 for 111 yards and a
touchdown, while Taye Biddle had two catches for 108 yards and
two majors for the Panthers.
