Bengals: Betting Odds 2007
The Cincinnati Bengals
are looking forward to a crime-free 2007, the betting odds say
they are not ready.
In
2006 most of the headlines about the Cincinnati Bengals were in
the criminal section and the turmoil resulted in an overall poor
performance by the team. The offense of the Bengals last season
was strong, however, for a total of 373 points scored. The
defense, on the other side has a lot of work to do to improve in
2007, after 331 were given up during the last football season.
If this trend continues in 2007, keep a close eye on the point
spread for the Bengals games. But the real test will be on head
coach Marvin Lewis to prove he will be able to resolve the
discipline problems.
The Cincinnati Bengals lost to the
Detroit Lions in the opener of the Preseason 27-26. Johnson
passed for 150 yards and completed 11-of-20 for the Bengals, and
Chris Henry ran for a TD off six carries for 86 yards in the
loss. Unfortunately, Chris Henry will miss the first eight
regular games, thanks to a suspension from commissioner Roger
Goodell. In August the Cincinnati Bengals waived RB Dan Burks
and LB Cameron Siskowic, and signed RB Curtis Brown and TE Nate
Lawrie. And the Begals offense in 2007 figures to be as potent
as ever with Carson Palmer healthy, making them a highly
productive road squad.
