Jacksonville
Jaguars: Betting odds
and lines 2007
Will another bad
football season for the Jacksonville Jaguars force head coach
Jack Del Rio to search for a new job?
The
Jacksonville Jaguars defense ranked second overall last football
season, but the offense was so horrible that it led them loosing
the last three games. Quarterback Byron Leftwich had to miss the
last 10 games of the Jaguars to recover from ankle surgery and
David Garrard proved unable to take his place. Leftwich and Del
Rio have had some problems in the past and if the QB doesn't
prove himself immediately, the fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars
may be seeing even more from Garrard in the regular season. The
Jaguars have struggled a long time to find a true No.1 receiver,
and so far only Matt Jones seems to have what it takes. With
further development, Jones could be in great shape this NFL
season.
Jack Del Rio looks to be taking steps
towards improving the offense. He fired five assistants during
the offseason and the new offensive coordinator is the former
Arizona State Dirk Koetter, and Mike Shula from Alabama was
hired as the new quarterback coach. But these two coaches are
often criticized by the experts when looking at their college
careers, and many wonder if this would bring the Jacksonville
Jaguars the much needed offence improvement. A breath of air was
the 31-19 victory of the Jaguars over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
David Garrard completed 11-of-14 for 129 yards with a rushing
TD, while Fred Taylor, LaBrandon Toefield and Alvin Pearman ran
in for the other Jaguars scores.
