Steelers betting odds and lines
For Pittsburgh Steelers
to reach the playoffs this season, head coach Mike Tomlin will
have to work on the defense.
An
awful football season last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers,
after the back then defending Super Bowl champions took a hit
when starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had his motorcycle
accident. With the resulting injuries many experts wrote off the
Steelers for reaching the playoffs in 2006 and unfortunately for
their fans, the 8-8 record did not cut it.
All the tribulations forced head coach
Bill Cowher to resign in January, after 15 season with the
Pittsburgh Steelers. His place was taken by the former defensive
coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings Mike Tomlin. A good
choice, after the Steelers defense gave up 114 points more than
the AFC North division rival the Baltimore Ravens.
The Pittsburgh Steelers scored 10 points
in the final quarter and came away with a 19-3 win over the
Carolina Panthers in the final football preseason game. Tyrone
Carter intercepted a David Carr pass and ran 32 yards for a
Steelers TD, while Jeff Reed booted four field goals in the win.
Prior to that game, the Steelers won 27-13 against the
Philadelphia Eagles. Ben Roethlisberger was 13-for-25 for 247
yards and an interception, while Willie Parker ran for 32 yards
and a score for the Steelers.
Even after great football during the
preseason, the odds makers remain unsure about their potential,
and the betting odds on the Pittsburgh Steelers remain in the
golden middle. These are the latest betting odds on the
