Chargers: Betting odds and 2007 football
The San Diego Chargers
are one of the favorite football teams in 2007 to win.
The
San Diego Chargers enter the 2007 football season as one of the
favorite teams to win both their division and the Super Bowl.
After a 14-2 record last season, the head coach Marty
Schottenheimer was fired because he did not get along with the
GM, and coordinators Wade Phillips and Cam Cameron left for head
coaching jobs in other NFL teams. This brought quite a confusion
among fans and players, but the odds remain in favor of the San
Diego Chargers this football season.
The new head coach Norv Turner does a
great job of running a high-powered offense and MVP LaDainian
Tomlinson is the best weapon a coach could ask - last football
season Tomlinson rushed for a league-leading 1815 yards
and set a new record with 31 touchdowns. Quarterback Philip
Rivers is in good health and out of the rookie spell. The
Chargers still have the best tight end in the NFL and the
defense is strong with powerful linebackers - Shawn Merriman led
the league with 17 sacks last football season.
During their final preseason football
game the San Diego Chargers built up a 10-point lead and held on
for a 16-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Craig Davis caught
a 40-yard pass for a touchdown, and Nate Kaeding booted three
field goals for the Chargers. Earlier Philip Rivers was
20-for-29 for 282 yards and two touchdowns, while Vincent
Jackson caught four passes for 92 yards and a pair of majors for
the Chargers for the 33-31 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Although some experts argue that the great
2006 season was due to a light schedule and problems with other
NFL teams, the betting odds on the San Diego Chargers remain one
of the best this football season. The following betting odds on
