Tampa Bay
Buccaneers: Football betting odds and lines
The future of head coach
Jon Gruden with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will depend on this
football season's performance.
Tough
time for head coach Jon Gruden as the Tampa Bay Bucs finished
the 2006 footballs season with a 4-12 record and lost the
starting QB Chris Simms in the third game. Although heroic
effort to finish the game with internal injuries, Simms did
little to help the Buccaneers. Questionable performance from the
new quarterback Jeff Garcia, brought in from Philadelphia to
finish the job. Only time will tell if Simms has recovered from
his injuries and if Garcia would help at age 37 if needed. The
defense also weakened last season, dropping from the top 10 for
the first time in a decade at 17th overall. The Buccaneers are
healthy and should make a run for the playoffs this season or
Jon Gruden will be history.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored two
touchdowns in the fourth quarter during the third week of
preseason, defeating the Miami Dolphins 31-28 at Dolphin
Stadium. Bruce Gradkowski was 10-for-16 for 104 yards and two
touchdowns, while Joey Galloway caught two passes for 39 yards
and a score for the Bucs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won an
offensive battle in a 31-24 win over the Houston Texans - Luke
McCown tossed three TD passes and finished 15-for-20 with 203
yards for the Bucs, while Paris Warren caught two touchdown
passes in the victory.
But the bookmakers expect little from
the team this year and the betting odds on the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers remain on the low-end underdog. These are the betting odds on the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as posted by the online bookmaker
