Odds-on Preakness favorite - Rachel
Alexandra, 8/5 odds to win the 2009 Preakness Stakes at
Bodog Sports. Not much of a change in the past couple of days on
the top favorite Preakness contender. The lone filly, which will
start from post position #13 is still getting most of the
betting action, thanks to jockey Calvin Borel and her Oaks
victory in the beginning of the month. Rachel Alexandra is still
the top choice for any bet on the Preakness, according not only
to the odds makers, but horse racing experts, as well.
Pioneer of the Nile - 5/1 odds to win
the Preakness. One of the most stable 2009 Preakness Stakes
contenders, even a few hours away from the start of the second
leg of the Triple Crown Pioneer of the Nile managed to retain
the 5/1 odds to win the Preakness, odds the 3-year-old held
since the day the bookmakers opened the wagers on the 2009
Preakness. Following Pioneer of the Nile come Friesan Fire and
Derby winner Mine That Bird, both sharing Preakness odds 6/1 to
ride to victory on Saturday night. Thanks to the switch of Borel,
the odds on Mine That Bird slumped down significantly over the
course of Preakness wagering, although the colt is still one of
the favorites to go the distance and inch closer to Triple Crown
Glory. The Preakness odds above are indeed the final odds, there
is very little chance that those numbers will change before the
start of the 2009 Preakness Stakes, unless breaking news emerge.
Good luck to all who will bet on the Preakness!
