Week 8 NFL picks
and spread: Lions vs. Bears, Jaguars vs. Buccaneers
The free picks for NFL Week 8,
including point spread, odds and betting trends for Detroit
Lions vs. Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tampa Bay
Buccaneers.
This
week we will take a look at two NFL games, let's start with the
Detroit Lions (4-2) visiting the Chicago Bears
(3-4). Both teams have shown very good game-play, despite the
current records and stats. The point spread on the Detroit
Lions vs. Chicago Bears is currently favoring the Bears -5
points with total of 45 points at
Bodog Sports. The Bears are
also favorite to win with odds -235 at
Bookmaker and the Lions are
underdog are +195. But our pick for this Week 8 NFL
matchup is - Detroit will win by at least three points.
The rivalry of the two Great Lakes teams is
legendary and this week many experts predict that Chicago will
beat Detroit when they meet in Week 8. Statistically, both teams
walk on the same line, but it seems that the Lions have much
more spunk in them, and the fact that Detroit is chasing the
Packers for a division lead speak for itself. Lions quarterback
Jon Kitna has been a great team leader this season and is not
afraid to give 100% for the victory. Lions won the last game
against Tampa Bay and the Bears got a moral boost from beating
Philadelphia (but then, who hasn't). Both teams seems to
match-up equally, but it seems that the Bears are still living
in the past, so our pick remains the Lions.
And talking about the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers (4-3), they will welcome the Jacksonville
Jaguars (4-2) on Sunday and made it in our Week 8 NFL picks.
At
Bookmaker the Buccaneers are
currently favorite to win with odds -215 and the Jags are
underdog at +185. But the point spread on the Jacksonville
Jaguars vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers is currently sitting at
only -4 points chalk the Buccaneers, and our Week 8 pick
is that Tampa Bay will win by at least 10 points.
Jacksonville is 3-6 against the spread in
its last 9 games and Tampa Bay is 4-2 against the spread in its
last 6 game. But the Jaguars are forced to come out in Week 8
with quarterback Quinn Gray as a starter, after David Garrard
was sidelined for at least a month last week. This will be the
first time Quinn Gray takes the starting job and when he
substituted for Garrard last week against the Colts he was
intercepted on his first play and Garrard had to be brought back
in the second half. There is plenty of potential in Quinn Gray,
but he definitely lacks leadership experience. Tampa Bay will
put on a good show for their fans this week.
