MGM and
Foxwoods shake hands on new Kansas casino
Partnership between MGM Mirage
and Foxwoods Development Co. to develop a casino in Kansas.
MGM Mirage (NYSE: MGM) and Foxwoods Development Co. have
partnered on a casino proposal, it was announced on Monday. The
proposed casino will be named Chisholm Creek Casino Resort and
will feature 2,000 slot machines, over 50 gambling tables and
250 hotel rooms. It will sit on 176 acres near Mulvane, Kansas.
According to the latest reports, the casino management companies
will split 90% ownership of the new casino and 10% will go to
the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska and Chisholm Creek
Ventures. Further details of the deal have not been released.
MGM will submit the application to the Kansas Lottery Commission
on Tuesday.
This is not the first time these two
casino giants shake hands. Last year MGM and Foxwoods formed the
Unity Gaming LLC partnership, which manages various gambling and
non-casino projects. The two companies are working on a large
casino project in Connecticut, as well.
