Tommy Bowden will remain at Clemson

Despite earlier reports for a trip to Arkansas, Tommy Bowden will remain Clemson coach.

Tommy Bowden will remain at Clemson Earlier reports sent Clemson coach Tommy Bowden to Arkansas, but today Bowden announced he has signed an extension to his contract and will stay with the Tigers. At this time all that it's known is that the new contract will run until 2012, but further details about Bowden's extension have not been released yet. Tommy Bowden said in a statement that he is very pleased with the new extension and looks forward to coaching the Clemson Tigers in the future. Reports earlier this week claimed that Tommy Bowden was offered more than $2 million by Arkansas.

Bowden, who has never had a losing season at Clemson and is a two-time ACC Coach of the Year, will lead the Tigers (9-3) against Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (Peach Bowl) on December 31st.
