bowl became part of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) in 1998
and before this year was the designee for the national
championship game every four years. The 2007 Fiesta Bowl game
matched up Boise State and Oklahoma and was won 43-42 by Boise
State in overtime. Oklahoma has won the Fiesta Bowl once in 1976
and this will be the second time West Virginia plays in the
Fiesta Bowl game.
