Bill Parcells
denies the Falcons, Tuna considering the Dolphins
Bill Parcells has declined the
as head of football operations job with the Atlanta Falcons,
could join the Miami Dolphins.
After
initially reaching a deal, the Atlanta Falcons and Bill Parcells
will head separate ways. Falcons owner Arthur Blank issued the
following statement today: "We gave it our best shot, and it
didn't work out. We remain committed to looking at every option
for building a championship-caliber team for our fans. I have
stated we will leave no stone unturned in doing so, and this
effort is one example of that."
Bill Parcells, who resigned from coaching
job with the Cowboys in January, told ESPN earlier, that he was
ready to work with the Atlanta Falcons, including taking care of
the head coach job opening at the NFL team. Today Arthur Blank
said the team had an agreement "in principle" with Bill Parcells,
but after he two-time Super Bowl-champion coach told the Falcons
he was considering an offer from the Miami Dolphins,
negotiations fell through.
