Golden Globes
cancelled due to Hollywood writers strike
Report in LA Times claim the
Golden Globes have been cancelled due to the writers strike.
Los
Angeles Times reports on its website that the 65th Annual Golden
Globe Awards ceremony has been cancelled, after actors vowed to
boycott the event in support the Hollywood writers strike. The
Golden Globes was scheduled to be held in Beverly Hills on
Sunday, but the newspaper is citing an email sent by
broadcasters to studios today, which notifies for the
cancellation of the event. According to reports, the Hollywood
Foreign Press Association plans to simply make announcements of
the winners and scrape the rest of the show.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has
yet to officially confirm that the Golden Globes have actually
been cancelled. At this point it remains unknown if all odds and
betting props on the Golden Globe Awards posted by the
bookmakers will be void, as winners will still be announced.
