Poker party
busted by the cops in San Mateo
Police in San Mateo County,
Ca., raided an illegal organized poker game.
San Mateo County police has raided an illegal poker game
after several month of surveillance and arrested two of the
organizers. According to reports, Cutberto Cardenas of San Mateo
and Patricia Kathleen McCoy of Burlingame were arrested as part
of an organized weekly poker tournament investigation, which had
started several months ago. The cops had the house under
surveillance of the home, located on Lexington Avenue, after the
neighbors complained of the excessive traffic going in and out
of the house. It turned out that the owners organized weekly
poker games with a $25 to $55 buy-in with an extra $5
"refreshment" fee and used a website to lure poker players to
join.
During the raid authorities seized poker
tables, playing cards, poker chips and over $1,300 in cash. A
13-year-old was also present in the house during the raid and
was taken into custody by San Mateo County Child Protective
Services. According to the report, Cardenas was charged with
fraudulently obtaining money under false pretences and
contributing to the delinquency of a minor. McCoy was charged
with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
