Carlo Casino fire under control
The fire that scorched the top
floors of the Monte Carlo casino has been brought under control.
The
fire, which engulfed the top floors of the famous Las Vegas
Monte Carlo Casino and Hotel on Friday, has been successfully
extinguished. The Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino fire started
around noon on Friday, likely from the roof of the hotel,
although at this time the exact cause for the blaze remains
unknown. Guests of the Monte Carlo were quickly rushed to the
nearby MGM Grand, while Las Vegas firefighters battled he fire
for hours. According to the latest reports, there were no
serious injuries, aside from a few minor cases of
smoke-inhalation.
Fortunately for the casino patrons, the
Monte Carlo fire was quickly brought under control and the
incident failed to reach the proportion of the infamous MGM
Grand casino fire in 1980. As a result of the MGM Casino fire,
87 people died and over 700 were seriously injured, making it
the second deadliest fire in U.S. history.
