Starbucks closing
today for training
The Seattle-based coffeehouse
will be closed tonight for barista re-training.
If you enjoy Starbucks coffee as much as we do, tonight
you'll have to look for the caffeine refreshment somewhere else.
All Starbucks stores nationwide will be closed on Tuesday from
5:30 pm until 9:30 pm (local time) for what the company says is
a training event for its workers.
According to Starbucks, the
downtime is meant to energize 135,000 employees at the company's
7,100 stores across the country and have them participate in a
brief barista re-education with focus on espresso drinks
preparation. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz says it's part of his
refocusing on the coffee customer experience.
