New England Patriots: Randall Gay going to the Saints

New England Patriots: Randall Gay going to the Saints The New England Patriots cornerback Randall Gay, 25, has signed a 4-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, it was reported today. The deal is worth worth up to $17.8 million, according to the New Orleans Times Picayune, which says that Randall Gay will pocket $6.7 million in salary and bonuses over the first two years, with a chance to go up to $9 million, based on playing time. Gay took part in all 16 regular season games with the New England Patriots last season, going for 3 interceptions and 38 tackles.

Randall Gay became the second cornerback the Patriots lost during this week's free agency period. On Friday Asante Samuel signed a 6-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The New England Patriots, however, remain the favorite team to win the 2009 Super Bowl - at the online sportsbook BodogLife the odds on the Pats are currently sitting at 3/1. The New Orleans Saints odds to win the next Super Bowl are 30/1.
