2008 NBA Finals
odds favor the Los Angeles Lakers
The
conference finals are underway with all teams pass their Game 1
stage and the Los Angeles Lakers are the new favorite to win the
2008 NBA Finals. Both the Lakers and the Celtics are leading 1-0
in their final series, but the difference in the odds is
staggering. Compared to the odds posted on the 2008 NBA Finals
in January at the online sportsbook
BodogLife, the Los Angeles
Lakers were nowhere near the favorite spot, they paid 10/1 if
the won the 2008 NBA Championship. Compare this to the current
11/10 odds on the Lakers to win the 2008 NBA Finals and the odds
from a few months ago were the best barging around. Back then
the bookmakers favored the Boston Celtics and the San Antonio
Spurs, the Celtics were 6/5 and the Spurs were 7/2. Today, just
one game into the conference finals, the Celtics are down to
second favorite at 7/4 and the odds on San Antonio Spurs to win
the 2008 NBA Finals are down to 11/2. The same 11/2 odds are
being held by the last remaining team, the Detroit Pistons, who
probably saw the worst decline in odds among the basketball
teams this season, being listed as the favorite team before the
playoffs. Here are the current odds to win the 2008 NBA Finals,
as posted at
BodogLife:
Boston Celtics - 7/4
Detroit Pistons - 11/2
Los Angeles Lakers - 11/10
San Antonio Spurs - 11/2
The conference finals continue today
with the Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons game, where the
Celtics are -5 favorite on the spread.
