Man sells his entire life on eBay, fetches $400,000 A Briton living in Australia sold his entire life on eBay, fetching a bit of $400,000 AUD ($385,000 USD), in order to start a new one. Ian Usher, 44, decided to offer his "entire life" up for grabs on the popular auction website eBay, after splitting from his wife of two and a half years. The life Ian Usher auctioned included his home in the southern suburb of Wellard, vehicles, furniture, job and access to his friends. Various hoax bids initially drove the price to over $2 million, but after implementing a registration system, Usher managed to sell the lot for $399,300 AUD. Ian Usher had hoped for $500,000 to start a new life, but decided to accept the bid an move on. "I guess I'm a little bit disappointed at the final price, I'd hoped it to be a little higher than that, but I am committed to selling and moving on and making a fresh start. I think I can start again, I've got some new plans now. I've been working on what I might do next," he was quoted. The details on the buyer have not been released.
