Small-stakes
gambling legalized in Indiana
A new Indiana law that authorizes bars to offer
small-stakes gambling goes into effect on Tuesday. The new law will
allow bars and restaurants in the state to offer several
small-stake gambling options, including tip boards, raffles,
drawings and pull tabs. This type of paper gambling was already
allowed at social and veterans clubs, but the state's lawmakers
legalized the form of gambling to include bars and restaurants.
According to reports, over 500 establishments have already
applied for license to sell the pull tabs. In order to qualify,
a business must have a liquor license, as well. Casino and horse
track gambling is already legal in the state of Indiana.
