Underdog Greg
Norman atop British Open leaderboard
Greg
Norman, 53, remains atop of the leaderboard as the final round
of the 2008 British Open begins. Norman, who is shooting to
become the oldest golfer to win a major championship, finished
Day 3 of the British open with two over par and has climbed from
500/1 underdog to 9/4 favorite with the online bookmaker
BodogSports.
Greg Norman has won the British Open
twice - in 1986 and 1993 and on Sunday will battle high winds
for a possible third victory at the Open. It's also interesting
to note that the Australian golfer came to the Royal Birkdale on
an extended honeymoon, after marrying tennis star Chris Evert
three weeks ago. Norman also claims he now plays more tennis
than golf, but his position on the British Open leaderboard
proves Norman "still got it". Competition will be Padraig
Harrington, who is tied for second place with South Korea's K.J.
Choi, holding odds to win the 2008 British Open at 3/1 and 4/1
respectively.
