Online betting for New York Racing Association

The NYRA has signed a deal to develop an Internet betting platform to meet their online gambling needs. The deal was signed with the Manhattan based Sona Mobile Holdings Corp., a company in the business of providing gaming applications. Users will be able to go online and register an account, get the latest lines and track information, and much more. The ultimate goal is to enable customers to bet using their mobile devices. About half of the cost for the new platform has already been paid by the NYRA.

The New York Racing Association is the owner of three of the state's biggest racing tracks - Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga, and according to their statements, it generates over $11 millions in daily wagers. They hope that the new system will give them an edge in a future wireless betting.
