Video gambling at
the race tracks proposed in Kentucky
Soon bettors at the race tracks in Kentucky could enjoy
another form of gambling - video machines. State Rep. Gregory
Stumbo (D-Prestonsburg) is proposing video gambling to become
legal and available throughout the horse racing tracks in the
Commonwealth of Kentucky, according to a press release. The new
form of gambling is aimed at increasing the gambling revenues of
the horse racing tracks and the additional money in the stat
coffins from the taxes will be allocated to education, as well
as reducing the vehicle and boat state taxes. According to Rep.
Stumbo, he plans to submit the gambling bill during the 2009
General Assembly. Gregory Stumbo was the Democratic Attorney
General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as well as the
longest-serving House Majority Leader.
