Great Britain's first Olympic medal odds

William Hill have opened a book on which sport will produce Team GB's first medal of the Olympics and make Judo 5/4 favourite. Hills also offer 4/1 Cycling; 4/1 Swimming; 5/1 Diving; 16/1 Archery; 7/1 any other sport.

Frankie Gavin's withdrawal, and the draw for the Boxing tournament, William Hill have now made the GB squad odds on to fail to win a Gold Medal. Hills offer 2/5 that they will not strike Gold; 2/1 to get ONE Gold; 14/1 TWO or more. 'Gavin's withdrawal is a real blow to GB's chances of coming back with Gold, and team morale could well suffer as a result of his departure, while the draw was not over-kind to the squad, either, and they are now up against it to win Gold' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
