Pittsburgh
Steelers vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Odds, point spread and preview
For
bettors and regular viewers, the jewel of the NFL Week 3 will
be, without a doubt, the game Pittsburgh Steelers at
Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday. As always, we are here to give
you the edge with the latest betting odds, point spread and a
brief preview of the Steelers - Eagles game. The Pittsburgh
Steelers (2-0) are rolling down the season with a perfect
record, while the Philadelphia Eagles (1-1), although losing to
the Cowboys on Monday, staged a football game out of this world.
So let's look at the betting odds first.
At the online sportsbook
Bookmaker, the Philadelphia
Eagles will host the Week 3 game as a favorite, listed with odds
-200 to win the game on Sunday. Meanwhile the Steelers will
travel to Philly holding underdog odds +170. The Steelers Eagles
point spread is currently listed at -3.5 points chalk
Philadelphia and the total for the game is sitting at 44.5
points, mostly due to the huge score in the last game. Betting
trends at the online bookmaker
BodogLife show that Pittsburgh
is 1-4 against the spread in its last 5 games on the road, while
Philadelphia is 4-1 against the spread in its last 5 games. But
the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Philadelphia's last 5 games at
home. The Pittsburgh Steelers - Philadelphia Eagles point spread
is also -3.5 points at BodogLife, but the bookie has jacked up
the total to 45 points. Punters could also bet live on the
Steelers - Eagles game.
Unfortunately, Wednesday's injury report
is hardly helpful to the bettors, considering that both teams
came out with full lists. Steelers quarterback Ben
Roethlisberger did a full practice, recovering from shoulder
injury, but his presence could hardly offset six players missing
practice - LB James Farrior, DE Brett Keisel, G Chris Kemoeatu,
CB Deshea Townsend, LB Donovan Woods and wide receiver Hines
Ward, who was the only one not injury related, while DT Casey
Hampton had a limited Wednesday practice. But the grass is far
from being greener on the other side of the scoreboard. The
Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out defensive end Victor Abiamir
and wide receiver Kevin Curtis for NFL Week 3 football, although
wide receiver Reggie Brown, safety Sean Considine and linebacker
Torrance Daniels all seem to have recovered from their injuries
and did a full practice on Wednesday. Still, Wednesday practice
in Philadelphia missed RB Tony Hunt, DT Trevor Laws, G Shawn
Andrews and C Jamaal Jackson, while DT Dan Klecko had a limited
one.
The Pittsburgh Steelers - Philadelphia
Eagles game will start on Sunday at 4:15 PM EST from Lincoln
Financial Field, PA.
