Odds to win the
Superbowl: Steelers big favorite
Now that we are down to just 4 NFL teams in the 2008/2009
postseason, it's the perfect time to look at the odds to win the
2009 Superbowl. For the purpose of this article we will look at
the current odds posted by the popular online sportsbook
Bookmaker (official), which are
usually the best lines you can find on the net by a sportsbook
with solid reputation. There is no need to tell you that the
Superbowl betting this year is expected to amount to over a
billion in wagers world-wide and finding the best odds could be
crucial for a great season-ender.
But without wasting any more time, at
Bookmaker the odds to win the Superbowl this year are
heavily favoring the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are listed at the
bookie with odds +141 to take it all. Considering that the
Steelers will face the Ravens for the AFC Championship this
weekend and the fact that Baltimore were just a game behind
Pittsburgh in the AFC North table, it's clear that the
sportsbook has made its mind once and for all about who will win
the Superbowl this year. Meanwhile at
Bookmaker the Baltimore Ravens
are sitting on +397 odds to win the Superbowl.
And looking at the last two remaining
NFC contenders, there is no surprise that the Philadelphia
Eagles are +170 to win the Superbowl. The Eagles will still have
to go through this NFL season's wonder-team, the Arizona
Cardinals, who seemed unmoved stomping over the Falcons and
upsetting almost all bettors with their decisive victory over
the Panthers in the playoffs. Still, the Arizona Cardinals are
the Superbowl underdog this year, listed with the whopping odds
+710 to win the Bowl. But currently, no matter which team you
decide to bet on to win the Superbowl, one thing is for sure,
you will more than double your money. Not to mention that last
year's odds to win the Superbowl on the Giants were once in a
lifetime opportunity, long gone.
