Fla. Mayor hopes to bring casino gambling to the heart of the state

Dave Yeager, Mayor of the small Central Florida town of Minneola, is proposing a casino gambling complex as a way of generating income and jobs in the area. The Mayor has proposed the gambling complex to the City Council, which is debating whether to put the casino gambling question on a ballot, whose cost would run into the hundreds of thousands. The proposed gambling complex will include a five-star hotel and resort, racing track, poker card room and various other casino games. The hopes of the Mayor are to take advantage of the adults visiting the Disney complex not far away. Supporters of the gambling complex also claim that the center will bring jobs, revenue and prosperity to the small town, while opponents claim that crime will increase thanks to the gambling hall. The local County Commission will have to first approve the ballot, before the gambling question is put in front the people.
