Kentucky Derby: Odds still favor Curlin and
Street Sense
One day away from the first
leg of the Triple Crown 2007, the 133rd Kentucky Derby, and
betting odds are still in favor of Street Sense and Curlin to
win the race.
Curlin is still the overall
favorite with odds 7/2, followed by Street Sense with betting
odds 4/1, according to the online betting site
Bodog Racebook. Steve Asmussen,
trainer of Curlin, is not worried about the post position,
although he said he would prefer to have been a little further
outside. On the other side, the trainer of Street Senese, Carl
Nafzger, with post draw 7, is looking forward to the Kentucky
Derby with much better position.
Circular Quay with trainer
Todd Pletcher, who has five horses in the Kentucky Derby this
year, is another contender for the race wit odds 8/1.
There is a possibility for a
wet track tomorrow. According to the Weather Channel,
thunderstorms are expected on Saturday over Louisville,
Kentucky, which may drastically change the outcome of the Derby,
as not all of the contenders perform as well on damp track.
The Kentucky Derby post time
is May 5th at 6:04pm EST.
