NBA Playoffs: Bulls avoid elimination
Chicago Bulls avoided a possible playoffs
elimination with a 102-87 win over the Detroit Pistons
yesterday.
Luol Deng scored 25 points and grabbed 13
rebounds as the Bulls avoided their first playoff sweep in 20
years. Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon got 19 points, Ben Wallace,
who has been with the pistons for 6 years, before going to
Chicago this season, pitched in 11 and 17 rebounds, and helped
the Bulls avoid the collapse after taking the lead, contrary to
game three.
For the Pistons Chauncey Billups put 23 points
in the basket and eight assists, while Tayshaun Prince added 18
points and Rasheed Wallace 14. Defense was the problematic point
in the Pistons' team - in the last 22 playoff games Detroit did
not allow their opponents to reach triple digits. Not this time,
and the Bulls' lead went as high as 23 points late in the third
quarter.
The top seeds head home for game five on
Wednesday.
