Horse Racing: Lingfield, Southwell, Leicester and Steepledowns races reviews

Below are the U.K. horse racing tracks with events for Tuesday, May 22nd, including reviews of the first race for each track.

Horse Racing: Lingfield, Southwell, Leicester and Steepledowns races reviews Lingfield Horse Racing: The first race is scheduled for 2:10. Best odds for the race are guaranteed at the British online bookmaker Bet365 (opens in new window), and they offer betting on all tracks below.

Review: We will side with Treetops Hotel in a modest opener, and he is selected ahead of Moon Emperor and Gaelic Roulette. From a falling mark, Moon Emperor cannot be ruled out, while a four-pounds rise for his Kempton win should still see Gaelic Roulette competitive. Treetops Hotel is another that has been given a fair chance by the handicapper based on his best 2006 form, and Bobsleigh could certainly be given a shout based on his best form of the last couple of years if he consents to put his best foot forward.

Southwell Races: The first event at Southwell starts 2:30.

First race review: This is a wide open start to the card and the pin has come down on the side of Billy Red, Diminuto and Mickleberry may provide most danger. The selection has put in two solid efforts this season on the turf and could be spot on for this. He has gone well on his three all-weather runs to date and having dropped a couple of pounds he does look on a decent mark. Mickleberry was a solid, if modest performer last season and should be all the better for a recent spin around Wolverhampton.

Leicester horse races: The racing starts at 6:00 at Leicester.

Opener review: Dome Rock is bred to be a winner as a two-year-old and can make a winning debut today at the main expense of Brassini and fellow newcomers Mazzanti and Hatta Fort. Luca Cumani has his stable in good form and with this his first two-year-old of the season, he could make a winning start. His sire won over this trip in his first year racing and with the last two winners of this race coming from a low draw, stall five could be advantageous. Brassini has run two good races so far but the feeling is that he may just need an extra furlong before he can score, so the newcomers Hatta Fort and Western Art look very much of interest.

Steepledowns: First race starts at 12:14. Last one at 9:16.
