Owen Hargreaves
signs with Manchester United
The Bayern Munich footballer, Owen Hargreaves,
will join Manchester United on July 1st.
Manchester United management announced
that Hargreaves will be signed, but refused to disclose the
amount of the transfer. Rumours are that it exceeds
£15 million and will be five-years long. Hargreaves has passed
the medical exam, and all personal details of the deal have been
hammered, all it's left is the official signature of the player.
According to United statement, Owen will sign officially the
contract when he gets back from a holiday at the end of June.
United's management has always been open about
signing the 26-year-old Canadian. Attempts were made to attract
the footballer last year, and early this year, but without a
success. David Gill, the chief executive of Manchester United,
is delighted that the Red Devils were finally able to snatch
Hargreaves.
Owen Hargreaves was sidelined for 4 months in
the beginning of the Champions League and was able to play only
a few games. He has been with Bayern Munich for 10 seasons and
has won six league titles with the German team.
Hargreaves will also miss the England vs.
Estonia game on Wednesday, due to a knee injury.
