First race at Musselburgh starts at 2:20 - totescoop6 Handicap (Cl4)
Race overview: Colorus has won two of his last three starts but How's She Cuttin' looks progressive and can win again. David Barron has his horses in good form at present and he has given his consistent filly a break since her last win. She acts on all types of ground and should go well despite a 7lb rise in the weights. Old boy Henry Hall continues to slide down the weights and he still retains plenty of ability so will pop up soon. Colorus won well last time out when he stayed on well at Thirsk but the feeling is that if any rain comes it will hinder his chances somewhat. Bo McGinty has run well in defeat and his turn shouldn''t be too far away whilst Jim Goldie won this race last year and saddles Blazing Heights today. His course and distance winner will appreciate any rain that comes. At a price Ptarmigan Ridge could go well with the stable in form, however How's She Cuttin' is in form and can win again.

2:50 totesport Handicap (Cl3)
Race overview: Trip and ground are fine for Doctor Scott and he gets the nomination ahead of Baizically and Sin City. Mark Johnston's gelding showed a good attitude to score last time out at Catterick and should go well despite a pound rise in the weights as he has won from a mark of 84 before. Whilst the stable's two-year-old's aren't flying, the older horses are running well and he can win again here. Sin City was a good second at Pontefract last time out and appeared to have wintered well. However the last time he tried this trip he didn't stay so he will have needed to have strengthened up. Kames Park warrants respect as a course and distance winner but looks too high in the weights. Prairie Sun stays all day but has needed a couple of runs in the past, whilst Lets Roll disappointed last time but should appreciate this longer trip. Baizically is consistent and warrants consideration, however Doctor Scott is taken to win again.

3:20 totesport.com Tradesman's Derby Handicap (Cl4)

3:55 Vorwerk Thermomix Germany Selling Stakes (Cl4)

4:40 toteexacta Handicap (Cl6)

5:15 Claiming Stakes (Cl6)

5:50 Handicap (Cl5)
Race overview: Toparudi gets the vote in this tricky finale with Toshi and Boxhall making it to the shortlist. Mark Tompkins' gelding has a poor strike rate (two wins in twenty starts), however he has reached the frame in nine more of those races so he can be relied on to run his race. He stays well and whilst he would prefer some more rain, he has run well on quicker ground before and gets the nod today. Alrida's last run at York can be ignored and judged on his good second over course and distance in April, he looks a threat. Boxhall is consistent and stays well so has solid claims if the ground stays quick, whilst Toshi won well last time out but isn't guaranteed to get today's trip. Hugs Destiny and Kyber both need to return to form but both have claims on their best, however we will return to Toparudi as the selection.
