Trump casinos bid
on the table
The Trump casinos in Atlantic
City have received their first bid.
Former Atlantic City casino executive Dennis
Gomes and New York-based JEMB Realty Corp., have put in a bid to
buy Trump Entertainment Resorts in its entirety. Executives for
the real estate company have confirmed the bid but declined
comments on the specifics.
Gomes, who left the Aztar Corp. in 2005, is
looking forward to work back in Atlantic City. Among the many
gambling jobs he has held through his 35-year career was a
president of the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Gomes was also an investigator for the Nevada Gaming Control
Board, and his investigation of the Stardust Casino organized
crime skimming operation in Las Vegas formed the basis for the
Martin Scorsese film "Casino."
In May, Trump announced it received
indications of interest for an acquisition, a couple of months
after the company hired Merrill Lynch & Co. to explore
"strategic options."
